in Poland. This product is compatible with Microsoft Flight

Solidarity Szczecin-Goleniów Airport (Polish: Port Lotniczy
Szczecin-Goleniów im. NSZZ Solidarność) (IATA: SZZ, ICAO: EPSC) is
the main domestic and international airport serving Szczecin and the
West Pomeranian region in northwestern Poland. The airport is
located near Goleniów, roughly 40-45 km northeast of Szczecin, with
convenient access via regional road links. It operates a single
2,500 m runway (13/31) and supports scheduled and charter passenger
services, general aviation and limited cargo activity, providing the
region’s primary air connection to major hubs and seasonal leisure
routes.
The airport’s roots are closely connected to Cold War military
infrastructure. The airfield was constructed in the mid-1950s as a
standard military facility with basic operational buildings and a
shorter runway. Civil aviation in the Szczecin area had previously
been associated with the Dąbie airfield, but in 1967 civilian
operations were relocated to Goleniów, establishing the combined
civil-military profile that would define the airport for decades.
As passenger demand increased, the airport was modernised in stages.
In the 1970s the runway was extended to 2,500 m and a new passenger
terminal was built, enabling more capable aircraft operations and
improving passenger handling. Further upgrades followed in the late
1990s, including works on the runway and apron, as well as
improvements to electrical systems and approach and runway lighting,
supporting more reliable operations and higher service standards.
In the 2000s the airport continued to develop as a regional gateway.
A new passenger terminal opened in 2001, followed by additional
expansion works, improving capacity, comfort and functional layout
for modern traffic patterns. Over time, the airport strengthened its
role in linking Szczecin and coastal West Pomerania to Warsaw and
selected international destinations, while also supporting tourism
flows to the Baltic Sea region.
Today, EPSC remains a compact but strategically important airport
for northwestern Poland, balancing regional connectivity with
operational efficiency. It serves as the primary aviation entry
point for Szczecin’s metropolitan area and supports the region’s
economy, tourism and international accessibility through a steadily
modernised airport platform.
